Junior GIS & Origination Specialist
NatPower is a global Energy Enabler for the energy transition.
Its role is to enable complex energy systems to emerge, connect and operate at scale, transforming energy needs, industrial constraints and climate objectives into sustainable, operational and bankable infrastructure.
Founded in 2019 as an independent company, NatPower was conceived to operate where complexity prevents traditional models from working. Rather than focusing on single assets or technologies, NatPower integrates development, infrastructure, finance and territories into coherent energy ecosystems.
The Group works with industrial partners, utilities, investors and public institutions to originate, structure and orchestrate projects that translate the energy transition from ambition into execution.
Today, NatPower operates across multiple geographies with dedicated teams in Europe, North America and Central Asia, managing a global development pipeline exceeding 24 GW across multiple technologies.
Job Description | Junior GIS & Origination Specialist – Renewables
We are seeking a candidate to join our Development team in a junior role, with the goal of progressively training them in origination activities—the analysis of the territory and identification of areas suitable for the development of renewable energy plants—and then advancing them toward full-fledged project development activities. This is the ideal entry point for those who want to build a solid career in the renewable energy sector, whether starting from scratch or building on a technical background.
Contract Type
One-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.
The Role
We are looking for someone to perform the following tasks:
• Territorial analysis using QGIS: mapping restrictions, identifying suitable areas, and conducting
preliminary site screening
• Assisting in the collection and organization of cadastral, urban planning, and environmental data
• Preliminary contacts with landowners and local stakeholders (with supervision)
• Assisting in the preparation of technical and cartographic materials to support project development
• Over time, gradual involvement in permitting and project development activities
Essential Requirements
• Technical diploma (Surveyor, Industrial Technician, Agricultural Technician, or similar) or bachelor’s or master’s degree in technical disciplines (engineering, architecture, land-use planning studies)—including recent high school and college graduates
• No prior experience in the renewable energy sector is required: we provide on-the-job training
• Familiarity with QGIS or other GIS tools (ArcGIS, AutoCAD) is preferred; it’s possible to learn from scratch if you have an analytical mindset and a desire to learn
• Attention to detail, curiosity, and the ability to work with data and maps
• Strong organizational skills and a desire to grow in a dynamic environment
What We Offer
• Entry into a rapidly growing sector, with structured on-the-job training
• Clear career path: from project origination to project development
• Young, hybrid work environment (Milan office + remote work)
• Opportunity to join either as a long-term intern with the goal of permanent employment or directly on a permanent contract, depending on your profile
