Project Development Manager PV and BESS

Share

NatPower’s role is to enable complex energy systems to emerge, connect and operate at scale, transforming energy needs, industrial constraints and climate objectives into sustainable, operational and bankable infrastructure.

Founded in 2019 as an independent company, NatPower was conceived to operate where complexity prevents traditional models from working. Rather than focusing on single assets or technologies, NatPower integrates development, infrastructure, finance and territories into coherent energy ecosystems.

The Group works with industrial partners, utilities, investors and public institutions to originate, structure and orchestrate projects that translate the energy transition from ambition into execution.

Today, NatPower operates across multiple geographies with dedicated teams in Europe, North America and Central Asia, managing a global development pipeline exceeding 24 GW across multiple technologies.

Headquarter: Milan, Via Savona 97

Group Size: Global Player (UK, USA, Italy, Kazakhstan) – 100+ employees

Italy Size: Rapidly expanding team

Group Consolidated: Global development pipeline > 24 GW

Nature of the role: Strategic role, end-to-end management of the permitting process.

Job description

This is a crucial role: we are looking for a professional who can manage the entire permitting process, engaging effectively with regulatory agencies and coordinating the land and grid phases, in order to bring projects (PV, BESS and wind) to the ‘ready-to-build’ stage.

Reporting to the Head of Development, you will take full ownership of your assigned projects, managing them from origination to RTB. Your primary focus will be managing institutional stakeholders and overseeing the national permitting process.

  • Integrated permitting and regulatory management: personally lead permitting processes at national (EIA, AU), regional and local levels. You will be the main contact for public administrations, municipalities and regulatory bodies, ensuring regulatory compliance and anticipating potential bureaucratic challenges.
  • Project Development (End-to-End): Bring projects (Solar, BESS and Wind) to the ready-to-build stage by proactively coordinating the three pillars of development: Land, Grid and Permits.
  • Grid and Land Management: Oversee connection procedures (TICA, STMG and STMD) by liaising with grid operators. Support land acquisition activities.
  • External Stakeholder Coordination: Manage and monitor engineering firms, external developers, and technical consultants, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and the quality of deliverables.
  • Strategic support and reporting: monitor the progress of the project portfolio and implement corrective actions when necessary. Support the M&A team during due diligence phases and contribute to the growth strategy for the Italian pipeline.

Requirements

  • At least three years’ experience developing renewable energy projects in Italy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Environmental, Electrical or Civil), Architecture or a related planning discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of land-use planning tools and permitting legislation at regional and national levels (EIA, screening, AU and PAS).
  • Solid understanding of grid connection procedures (TICA). Good knowledge of Google Earth and Microsoft Office is required, and familiarity with AutoCAD/PVsyst would be advantageous.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage public and private stakeholders. A problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in English.

What we offer

  • The opportunity to lead development at one of the most well-capitalised and dynamic companies in the market, winner of the MACSE auction and backed by global investors.
  • A role with direct responsibility, where your expertise in permitting will measurably impact the business’s success.
  • An international, meritocratic environment with a multi-technology pipeline (PV, wind and BESS) that ensures continuity and professional growth.
