MISSION EARTH, Second episode of the NatPower Podcast
In the latest episode of the Mission Earth podcast, we focus on the often overlooked issue of soil quality. While much of the environmental conversation focuses on renewable energy and climate change, the degradation of our land remains a pressing issue.
Across the European Union, urbanisation, desertification, erosion and soil sealing are responsible for the loss of tens of thousands of square kilometres of fertile land every year. This crisis is compounded by the harmful effects of intensive agriculture and groundwater pollution.
But how did this degradation begin, and what risks does it pose to human health? More importantly, what solutions are currently being implemented to reverse the damage? In this episode we explore these questions by visiting the famous ‘Lands of Fires’ in Campania and Veneto, Italy, and travelling as far as Chile to understand the global scale of the problem.
Listen to the latest episode of Mission Earth to learn more about the urgent need to protect and restore our soil.
Originally released in Italian, the podcast is now available in English. If you haven’t already, we invite you to listen to the Italian version!
